3d AS Spouses "Third But First"

Happy Holidays from the 3d Airlift Squadron! Thank you to Sherea Malcolm and Lindsay Zahner who hosted a wonderful November coffee at the Eagle Heights Community Cen-ter. We enjoyed food, apple cider (perfect, because it was a chilly night) and some fun Thanksgiving trivia. Who knew turkeys slept in trees? We welcomed Terese Cooley, who moved here from Scott AFB this past summer.
In November we also had a Thanksgiving potluck lunch at the squadron. It was a wonderful turnout and a chance for everyone to come together for some food and festivity.

Upcoming Events:
December 6: Ops Group Family Holiday Party at the 3AS at 10:00-12:00
December 16: 3AS Holiday Coffee at the Eagle Heights Community Center at 6:30pm
December 19: 3AS Holiday Party at the Dover Sheraton; more details to come
December 23: Ops Group Bunko at the 9AS Heritage Room at 7:00; please bring a dessert to share.

Check out our website: http://groups.google.com/group/3rd-airlift for more details about up-coming events. Have a wonderful month of holiday preparation and celebration!

9th AS Spouses "The Proud Pelicans"
The holidays are upon us once again! It’s hard for me to believe that soon we’ll ring in a new year. Our Peli-cans are busier than ever with the usual flurry of activities this season brings…updates this month include:

Get-togethers:
November 4th marked not only an election day in our country, but also our monthly spouse meeting in the 9 AS. Special thanks to Teri Renneckar for hosting the November social at her home. We all had a fantastic time learning to cook some of her favorite Filipino food. Teri taught us some great techniques and no one left her home hungry! What a great evening…thank you!

The Pelican family gathered for our annual Thanksgiving feast on November 20th in the squadron. We en-joyed catching up with each other and tons of fabulous food. Thank you to all who were able to make this year’s event so special.

Next month’s spouse social is set for Wednesday, December 10th at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Glenda Ross. She has graciously agreed to open her home to us again this year. Glenda always goes above and beyond to make this social a special evening for us all. Plan to arrive hungry and ready to celebrate the holidays! Glenda and her family decorate the entire house from top to bottom and make a huge spread of amazing food! We’ll do an ornament exchange and our “Secret Santa” reveal tonight as well. So, mark your calendars…you don’t want to miss this fun night out!

Be sure to mark your calendars for the 436th Operations Group Children’s Christmas Party on Saturday, December 6th from 10 a.m. to noon at the 3 AS. Children will receive a special gift from Santa; make crafts, play games, watch movies and head out to the flight line with their families for a photo opportunity with a C-5 or C-17. This promises to be a wonderful event for us all, so I hope you’ll be able to join us!

436th Aerial Port Dawg Squadron

November was a super busy month for the Porters. We had our inaugural “Combat Dining Out” and had a great time. Lots of laughter, water guns, and great food! We also had our annual Thanksgiving feast this past week. Thanks to all the great cooks who participated! Lastly, the 436th Aerial Port was notified that they were a finalist for the “Large Terminal of the year” award. Good luck Dawgs!!
Don’t forget our combined adult/children Christmas party on Friday, the 5th of December, at the Modern Maturity Center. For more information, please contact Angela Peterson at 883-2117.
